Editorial Guidelines

Last updated: February 3, 2026

At AI News Home, we believe in complete transparency about how we create our content. We use AI as a tool to enhance our journalism, never to replace the human judgment, ethics, and accountability that quality reporting demands. Every article you read has been crafted, verified, and approved by human editors who take full responsibility for its accuracy and integrity.

Our Mission

AI News Home was founded in 2026 to provide comprehensive, accurate, and accessible coverage of artificial intelligence and its impact on society. We recognized that as AI technology advances rapidly, there is a critical need for journalism that can explain complex developments, analyze their implications, and hold powerful actors accountable.

We cover AI not as cheerleaders or doomsayers, but as journalists committed to helping our readers understand one of the most transformative technologies of our time. Our reporting aims to be factual, balanced, and useful to everyone from industry professionals to curious citizens.

How We Use AI Tools

As a publication covering AI, we believe it would be inconsistent not to explore how these tools can assist our work. However, we use AI thoughtfully and with clear boundaries. Here is exactly how AI may be involved in our editorial process:

AI May Assist With

  • Research and information gathering — helping editors quickly survey large volumes of source material, academic papers, and press releases
  • Initial draft generation — creating first drafts based on verified facts and editor-provided outlines that are then substantially rewritten and refined
  • Summarization — condensing lengthy documents or creating TL;DR summaries for reader convenience
  • Grammar and style checks — identifying errors and suggesting improvements to clarity
  • Transcription — converting audio and video content to text for reporting purposes

AI Never Does

  • Make editorial decisions — what to cover, what angle to take, what sources to trust, and what conclusions to draw are always human decisions
  • Publish without human review — no content goes live without being read, edited, and approved by a human editor
  • Conduct interviews or original reporting — all quotes, interviews, and firsthand reporting come from human journalists
  • Verify facts — fact-checking is performed by human editors using primary sources
  • Express opinions or analysis — all analysis, interpretation, and opinion comes from human writers and editors

Exception: AI Pulse

AI Pulse is a separate, automated feature on our homepage that aggregates breaking AI news from across the web. Unlike our editorial content described above, AI Pulse uses AI to cluster related stories from RSS feeds and generate brief summaries, publishes automatically without human review of each item, and links directly to original sources—we don't claim the reporting as our own. It is clearly labeled as "AI-curated" to distinguish it from our human-written articles.

Human Editorial Oversight

Every piece of content published on AI News Home passes through multiple layers of human review. Our editorial team takes full responsibility for everything we publish, regardless of what tools were used in its creation.

  • Editorial review — every article is reviewed by at least one editor who verifies accuracy, checks sources, and ensures the content meets our standards
  • Byline accountability — the editor whose name appears on an article has personally reviewed it and stands behind its accuracy and quality
  • Quality standards — we maintain consistent standards for sourcing, attribution, and factual accuracy across all our content

Our Editorial Process

Here is a typical workflow for how an article is created:

  1. Story identification — human editors identify newsworthy developments through monitoring industry sources, press releases, academic publications, and tips
  2. Research and gathering — editors gather primary sources, review documents, and may use AI to help survey large volumes of background material
  3. Outline and angle — the editor determines the story angle, key points to cover, and creates an outline based on verified information
  4. Draft creation — a draft is created, potentially with AI assistance based on the editor's outline and verified facts
  5. Editorial revision — the editor substantially revises the draft, adding analysis, ensuring accuracy, improving clarity, and applying their expertise
  6. Fact-checking — all factual claims are verified against primary sources; quotes are confirmed; statistics are checked
  7. Final review and publication — a final editorial review ensures quality standards are met before the article is published with full attribution

Fact-Checking and Source Standards

Accuracy is the foundation of our credibility. We hold ourselves to rigorous fact-checking standards:

  • Primary sources preferred — we prioritize original documents, official statements, and firsthand accounts over secondary reporting
  • Multiple source verification — significant claims are verified through multiple independent sources when possible
  • Expert consultation — for technical topics, we consult subject matter experts to ensure accuracy
  • Transparent attribution — we clearly attribute information to its source and link to original materials when available
  • No AI-generated facts — we never rely on AI systems to generate factual claims; all facts come from verified sources

Large language models can generate plausible-sounding but incorrect information. We understand these limitations deeply, which is why all factual claims in our articles are verified by human editors using primary sources, never generated or assumed from AI outputs.

Corrections Policy

We take errors seriously. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and transparently:

  • Prompt correction — errors are corrected as soon as they are identified and verified
  • Clear labeling — corrections are clearly noted at the top of the article with a timestamp
  • Explanation provided — we explain what was wrong and what the correct information is
  • Version history — for developing stories, we maintain a timeline of updates and changes
  • No silent edits — substantive changes to published articles are always disclosed

If you believe we have made an error, please contact us at corrections@ainewshome.com. We review all correction requests and respond promptly.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently, based solely on news value and our readers' interests:

  • No pay-for-coverage — we do not accept payment in exchange for news coverage
  • Advertising separation — advertising and sponsored content are clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial content
  • Disclosure of conflicts — we disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may be relevant to our coverage
  • Balanced coverage — we strive to cover AI developments fairly, including both benefits and risks, without advocacy
